The current issue is guest edited by Dr Tim Lahm and reflects the scientific sessions from the Pulmonary Hypertension Association's 2016 International PH Conference and Scientific Sessions, entitled 25 Years of Progress: Changing the History of PH. There has been tremendous progress in both research and treatment since the founding of PHA in 1991 and the inaugural PH Conference in 1994. As Chair of the Scientific Sessions Committee, Dr Lahm organized an impressive spectrum of presentations and generously agreed to secure contributions from those same experts to this issue of Advances. “PH Around the World” served as an additional theme for the conference; therefore, readers will enjoy a worldwide perspective on four important causes of pulmonary hypertension. In addition, those abstracts selected for oral presentation are included and explore some exciting areas of research. As always, the roundtable discussion offers key insight by experts into the work generated by the results of large historical registries. Lessons learned from the past 25 years provide guidance for future areas of inquiry as the field presses forward to improve the care of our patients.
